Who we are
Our website address is: https://binocleglobal.com. We are part of the Binocle Communications Enterprise which is a parent organisation for the Binocle Global Group and others.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it:
When visitors leave comments on this site we collect the data shown in the comment form, the posting IP address and the browser’s user agent string to assist with spam detection and removal.
If you upload images to this website, you should avoid uploading your images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Other visitors to the website may download and be able to extract the location data from images that are uploaded to the platform.
At present, we do not retain the information from our contact forms after resolving queries, however when we should choose to do so, we’ll update you here on this.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are used for your convenience so you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. Those cookies will last for 1 year.
If you have an account and log in to this site, we set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for 2 days, and screen options cookies last for 1 year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for 2 weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. These expire after 1 day.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the same way as if the visitor has visited that site.
We would like to remind you that we only embed content where we do not yet have the facilities or permissions to publish excerpts of the content ourselves. We work to avoid sharing your data whenever possible, however we may be required to do so by third party providers to deliver the full services of the platform.
No analytics are currently being stored outside of real time statistical processing which the platform offers its staff for the purpose of monitoring engagement with the content they create. This changes minute by minute and will not log over time.
Who we share your data with
We do not share data to other third parties at present.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, that comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments faster, instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the information they provide solely in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their own personal information at any time (except they cannot change usernames – this is a WordPress protocol). Administrators can see and edit information that which is possible to be changed (excluding usernames).
We reserve the right to remove the accounts for any usernames which we feel are an infringement upon the copyright of any other person or company. We also reserve the right to remove the accounts of anyone who tries to share propaganda or hate speech through their access to the platform. Once an account has been deleted, it cannot be reinstated to the platform for security and verification purposes.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of personal data we have about your profile, including data that you have provided to us. You can request that we erase personal data we hold about you. This excludes any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service which is built into the platform. Your personal data does not leave the site when visiting another, only that you may have been viewing this site previous to visiting the other (some websites aggregate what is known as a referral location).
Our contact information
You can contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org
How we protect your data
We do not share information with others except in the essential use of platform services. We store it in a secure service which we trust. If we believe that we should update our platform along the way, we will keep everyone updated on this process.
What data breach procedures we have in place
When we receive notifications of data breaches, we will report these to the applicable data protection commissions in all of the affected individuals countries (if using a VPN we will not be able to fulfil this offer, as we will not have accurate location data for the parties concerned).
What third parties we receive data from
We do not receive third party data at present. When we do we will update our policy here.
What automated decision making and/or profiling we do with user data
We do not use any services to monitor, process or store your information other than the platform itself.
